The Pressure Cooker of Change.
The Pressure Cooker of Change
5 February 2026
We often ponder dreams —
different ways of living,
different ways of being,
and ultimately, setting ourselves free.
But rarely do we ponder the necessary adjustment of the mind, body, and spirit required to get there.
So often, we sabotage ourselves — before we even begin, a pinch of the way through, or halfway up the mountain.
We run back down to what’s familiar, what’s easy, what’s comfortable — instead of pushing through to see what lies on the other side of the climb.
And when we do, we blame everything external.
We tell ourselves the mountain was too steep,
the wind too cold,
the shoes too worn.
We jump out of the fire before the diamond is ever formed.
I write this tonight while I feel the urge to run back down the mountain.
I write this while I could easily choose sleep over putting these words on paper.
And maybe no one will ever read them — or maybe they’ll reach just one person, nudging them closer to a better life.
And that alone would make it worth it.
So I’ll keep sitting here, placing the next pebble behind me — because what’s the fun in having the same view your entire life?
Here’s a small piece to take with you on your own climb:
We look to nature for answers — and by God, does it show.
We witness slow, patient perfection,
yet somehow believe we need no time to grow.
We want butterflies without caterpillars.
A mighty shame — this stubborn ego.
I, too, have fallen victim to its limited show.
So we wander our days, slaves to society,
when in truth, our hearts, gifts, and talents
are what would truly set us free.
The pressure cooker for change is a mighty fine machine —
but can you handle the heat,
the darkness,
the steam?
She promises all things magical,
things we only dare to dream.
Things we have wished upon,
and things we haven’t yet seen.
Do we ever truly exit?
That, I’ll never know.
Or do we simply choose a new pot,
to see what life can grow?
We are creatures wired for safety —
but does that now limit us implicitly?
Should we loosen our grip on what we think we should do
and reach back for the magic that freedom once knew?
How do we change to reach ourselves,
not the masks society sold us from its shelves?
How do we know when we’ve “made it”?
Or do we never really get there?
When I find all the answers — and my seventeen million dollars —
I promise I’ll share.
The pressure cooker for change is a mighty fine machine —
but can you handle the heat,
the darkness,
the steam?
She promises all things magical,
things we only dare to dream.
Things we have wished upon,
and things we haven’t yet seen.
Do we ever truly exit?
That, I’ll never know.
Or do we simply choose a new pot,
to see what life can grow?
So please — share your light.
Please share your smile.
It may be the first one someone has seen in a while.
Jump into the fire —
but make sure it’s the one fueled by your dreams.
Otherwise, you may find yourself buried deep
beneath a life of silent screams.
Change is hard.
The pressure can feel like it will never let off.
But my dear friends —
we are all diamonds in the making.
We just need time to grow from the rough.
The pressure cooker for change is a mighty fine machine —
but can you handle the heat,
the darkness,
the steam?
She promises all things magical,
things we only dare to dream.
Things we have wished upon,
and things we haven’t yet seen.
Do we ever truly exit?
That, I’ll never know.
Or do we simply choose a new pot,
to see what life can grow?
So if you’re reading this right now —
stay with the process.
You’re closer than you think.
The heat won’t last forever —
but what it shapes in you, might just imprint.
