The First Brick
The First Brick
This is the first of many journal entries I hope to write.
That thought alone feels both scary and exciting — all at once.
The foundations are built.
The site is still a little messy.
But the first brick has been laid.
This is the start of a journey I hope not only teaches and inspires myself and my family, but gently encourages others — wherever they are — to find happiness in each day, and in each moment.
Because while we might be dreaming of a whole house, a castle, or even a mansion…
in truth, we only ever have this moment.
This brick.
This step.
What we do with this first brick sets the tone and strength for all the ones that follow.
So if you’re reading this, don’t place your next brick half-heartedly.
Don’t lay it on its side.
Don’t rush it without enough grit to make it stick.
Place it with purpose.
With conviction.
With pride.
Lay it so the next brick can stand beside it — stronger, taller, brighter.
Do that, and you’ll already be on your way to building something magical — something that lights up your world.
So the lesson stands:
Whatever you’ve been thinking of doing — just start.
One step.
One brick.
One moment at a time.
And if I can start, so can you.
Don’t forget to smile along the way — because every brick only ever carries the heart you put into it.
So tell me…
What’s the thing you’ve always wanted to start?
And what’s your very first step going to be?
