Slow Motion

Slow Doesn’t Mean Stuck

19/12/25

I’m not going to lie — things aren’t happening as quickly as my nervous system would like them to.

Life feels a little like slow motion at the moment. Waiting for our second child. Waiting for all the good things I know are on their way. You tell the universe you’re ready… and it hands you the patience card.
You wait a week and say, “No really, I’m ready.”
It gives you the rest card. Three days in a row.

Even when you try to avoid the rest card, the universe just laughs and says,
Here. Sit down. Rest. Actually rest.
And then — here’s the rest card again.

This limbo feeling has got to be one of the strangest places to pause.
But maybe that’s where we truly become — right here, in the in-between.

You can feel it when you’re changing.
When you’re becoming someone who sees the world differently than before.
Softer in some ways. Stronger in others.
With a perspective shaped by experience, trust, and a whole lot more positivity.

It’s no longer a matter of if.
It’s a matter of when.

A matter of trusting the universe and the good it’s quietly lining up for you.
A matter of knowing that miracles don’t always arrive loudly — they flow in daily, ordinary moments.
Of believing you’re on a winning streak simply because each day is a gift.
Another chance to learn. To notice. To grow.

It’s choosing to believe the universe is working for you — not against you, not to you.
It’s perspective.
Running with the blinkers off.

What’s funny is that simply writing this today has given me clarity on how far I’ve already come — spiritually, emotionally, personally — even though, from the outside, it might look like nothing has changed.

But the soil has been laid.
The seeds are in.
And the roots are growing.

Slow on the outside is often worlds away from what’s happening underneath.

So if you’re feeling like things aren’t moving at the pace you think they should — stop.
Grab a pen.
Look back.

Reflect on the changes that aren’t obvious yet.
Notice how strong your roots have become — because they’re preparing to hold the weight of what’s coming.

When the time is right, you’ll bloom.
Brighter. Fuller. More beautifully than you ever imagined possible.

So let your tea brew.
Let your roots grow.
Let your body recalibrate.

You are not stuck.
You are becoming — and you can’t rush it.
(Trust me, I’ve tried.)

P.S. — A poem on the slo-mo effect

Slo Motion

Slow — the outcome hasn’t arrived.
Slow — the scenery looks the same.
Slow — you know the day is coming, so time drags a little more.

Slow — the temptation is real to slip back into old habits.
But you don’t.

Slow — you pull back from the world and most of what you once knew,
because being there makes it harder not to fall into old thought patterns.

Slow — in pulling back, you feel more alone than ever…
yet somehow, more at peace within yourself.

But here’s the shift —

Becoming. The outcome is already on its way.
Becoming. The scenery looks the same — but the weather is changing.
Becoming. Each day is a blessing, exactly where you’re meant to be. So enjoy it.

Becoming. What you once outsourced to others, you’re learning to hold yourself.
You are your own anchor now — and what you’re growing into,
others don’t yet have the capacity to carry for you.

Becoming is ever-evolving.
Because once you step into a new reality,
another one is already quietly brewing beneath it.

Becoming. Today is your day.
Do what tickles your heartstrings
and sets your soul on fire.

With love,
The Three Wise Pups
